Hello there
Hey I’m Antonia... I don't know what brought you here but welcome. You're in the right place.
So here’s a little bit about me...
When I first sat on a yoga mat I couldn’t touch my toes. I certainly couldn’t do a headstand... I couldn’t do a handstand and to be honest I definitely couldn’t sit in stillness for three minutes.
There are still some days where I can’t do any of those things but over the years I’ve managed to achieve all of these things thanks to yoga.
My intention for FYR classes is to meet you where you are today and give you something to work towards guided by your intention.
My Story
So becoming a yoga teacher was never part of the plan. I initially went to a class because I did a lot of running and I just felt really stiff in my body. I felt very fit but my body just felt tense, I was 15 and I couldn't cross my legs... something wasn't right.
So Yoga for me really started just as a way to get more stretching into my routine when I didn’t have time to in the gym but since then it’s given me much more. It’s become a way to reset, a way to tune out of the world around me and tune back in to me. I can’t exactly explain it… you have to feel it.
It's pretty magical. And that's what I want to share, bring a little more magic in to the everyday.
So what Yoga do I teach? I am classically trained in Ashtanga, Rocket and Mandala. My style sits somewhere between a power flow and dynamic vinyasa (don't worry if those terms mean nothing to you). I have blended these styles to create a flow that feels powerful. The flow might feel almost like a dance but ultimately you’re gonna walk away feeling strong, hopefully challenged and you will certainly feel muscle muscles you didn't know that you had.
Whether you’re a runner who is dealing with really tight hips (that was me) whether you a gym goer with a lot of tension in their shoulders or feeling limited in your flexibility... then I'd love to flow with you.
Beginners this one is for you: I think people can easily feel overwhelmed and or intimidated but if you can breathe you can do yoga. It’s not about getting into the perfect pretzel posture (although kudos if you can). It’s really just about meeting where your body is today.
